This ongoing body of work began after the birth of her second child. Laurie reconstructs fabric from her family's discarded clothing and other everyday scraps into unique compositions, using the sewn patterns as molds for casting cement pieces. The resulting artworks serve as physical impressions of those remnants, a deliberate act of preservation, inviting a curiosity akin to observing a fossil.
